about

The spring of 2022 brought a renewed sense of calm and hope back to my personal life after a lengthy dismal period predating the pandemic. That's where I discovered these indie / experimental / electro-pop songs; They seemed to come out of that feeling of renewal that I experienced this last spring and, in turn, the making of this album was very cathartic and natural feeling. I found myself unwittingly making garish synth basslines, textural break-beats with vinyl samples, doing tape experiments, recording acoustic instruments, more synths, plenty of electric guitar, and a sampler with these melancholy melodies just pouring out of me. It was a good time. Mixing, however proved difficult and took forever.
I think this record encapsulates the emotional reset that I experienced. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed producing it. Hopefully it doesn’t come off too saccharine.

In memory of my very wonderful sets of grandparents that I lost over the past decade. I've gradually been discovering the deeper meanings behind all of their lessons, gifts, and love that they invested into my upbringing. Recently, I've been attempting to apply their grace to my worldview.

Thanks to all my family and friends. Thanks to Andrew for his wonderful art. Thanks to my amazing wife Sarah, who helped with clap tracks, listened to various mixdowns, and constantly helps me see that everything’s not lost in this world.

And finally thank you for supporting DIY music.
Cheers!
